By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

Drew Bosley of Homestead breezed through the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday in 15:20.1 and won the Division 1 state title for the second year in a row.

For Bosley, who was seventh at both Foot Locker and Nike Cross Nationals last December, the biggest meets of the season are still to come.

Still, the No. 3-ranked Bosley took care of his business within his home state. He split 9:52 at two miles and won the 5,000-meter race by about 10 seconds.

Rowen Ellenberg of Kimberly was second in 15:30.9 and Matthew Meinke of Neenah was third in 15:33.9.

Meinke led his team to the D1 title. Neenah scored 121 points for the win, followed by Middleton (131) and Germantown (162).

Freshman Genevieve Nashold of Madison West won the D1 girls championship in 18:10.0. The top seven finishers were either freshmen or sophomores.

Kate Sperka’s runner-up finish led Muskego to a dominant 48-point team victory. Sun Prairie was second with 103 points.

Henry Chapman of East Troy won the boys D2 title, running 15:59.3. Valders scored 98 points on the way to the team title.

Leah Kralovetz of Denmark ran the fastest time of the day for the girls, clocking 17:46.7 for a half-minute victory in Division 2. Medford won the team championship with 106 points.

David Vannucchi of Luther took the boys D3 race in 15:43.9. Vannucchi traveled to California and placed 12th in sweepstakes race at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic.

Aquinas won the D3 team title with 90 points.

Marissa Ellenbecke of Edgar was the D3 girls winner in 19:06.4. Lancaster won with 74 points.
